Configuring Front End Developer Roles
Basic - Front End Developer
A basic Front End Developer is a user who helps design and develop basic HTML and CSS in Layouts in addition to working with specific content for look-and-feel by using the embedded code editor in any content edit view.
A basic Front End Developer should have the following permissions in the General tab:
In addition to the Layouts Pages permissions above, a basic Front End Developer should also have the same permissions as a Content Manager.
Advanced - Front End Developer
An advanced Front End Developer should have access to Content Manager and Basic Front End Developer roles in addition to below.
A Front End Developer should have the following permissions in the General tab:
At a minimum, advanced Front End Developers should also have access to view Application Settings in order to see Custom Field names in each application:
Senior - Front End Developer
Senior Front End Developers are Front End Development leaders, with further authority over publishing, deleting and rolling back layouts and widgets, in addition to being able to take over locked Layouts and Widgets when necessary.
A Senior Front End Developer should have the following permissions in the General tab:
