Dear Customers,
On July 30th at 3:40 PM PDT, Amazon Web Services (AWS), the leading cloud infrastructure provider we use to host our services, experienced a major outage in its US-EAST-1 region. This outage affected several AWS services, including Cloudwatch and ECS, which we use for platform deployment.
As a result of this outage, some of our customers experienced a degradation in the performance of their services. In many cases, we were able to successfully mitigate this by increasing the number of available resources.
From the start of the incident until 9:55 PM PDT, when AWS announced that the underlying issues had been resolved and normal operation of the affected services had been restored, we worked closely with AWS to monitor the situation and minimize the impact on our customers.
While infrequent, regional failures affecting entire services within a region always have a high impact on service execution. To minimize the impact of similar outages in the future, we will soon be offering our customers advanced multi-region deployment options to improve infrastructure resilience.
For our Enterprise On Premise customers with infrastructure in AWS who were affected, Modyo's support teams are available to assist with multi-region deployment strategies if needed.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this outage may have caused. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us through our support channels.
Sincerely,
José Antonio Silva
VP of Technology
